Impeachment vs Chief Justice Corona

Hi Kids!

Yesterday marked a moment in our political history. It was the first time that an impeachment trial was seen to it's end. We've had impeachment complaints before, yes, but this is the first time that a verdict was given.

You can read about this at wikipedia so I won't go into details. I was never a follower of the drama of politics anyway. But what is my stand here? Corona did not declare his dollar accounts in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) but it was not done in bad faith. He simply believed that it was not required. So it was unlucky on his part that the law is still vague on this one and he had a number of detractors who used it against him. So I believe he is at fault, yes, kahit di niya sinasadya. But now, yung impeachment nya dapat maging lesson sa ibang officials na "o required pala yun ideclare ha". At least mas naging clear yung stand ng law on this one.

Just my two cents', my sweethearts. Love you both!

Communicate Well to Lead

"If you lead your team, give yourself three standards to live by as you communicate to your people:
> Be consistent.
> Be clear.
> Be courteous."

John Maxwell

Good Leaders Don't Rely on Luck

"The reason so many people never get anywhere in life is because when opportunity knocks, they are out in the backyard looking for four-leaf clovers." Walter P. Chrysler

Note

Okay, I know this doesn't look like a blog anymore. Yaan nyo na. Basta ito yung mga gusto kong i-impart sa inyong messages. Words I want you to live by, to think about. Words to guide you even when me and dad can't anymore.

Love you sweethearts. You will always be mommy's babies :)

Sow a Seed, Change a Life

"All of us are born for a reason, but all of us don't discover why. Success in life has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others." Danny Thomas

Create in Me

(sung by: George Misulia)

I would love for this to be your prayer, mga anak. I love you!

++++++++++++++++++

Refrain:
Create in me a clean heart,
put a new and right Spirit within me.
Cast me not  away from Your presence,
and take not Your   Holy   Spirit   from me.

Have mercy on me, O God, in Your goodness.
In Your compassion, blot out all my sin.
Thoroughly cleanse me from all of my guilt.
Wash me till I'm whiter than snow. (Refrain)

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit.
So I will teach transgressors Your ways
and sinners will return to You. (Refrain)

You are pleased with sincerity of heart,
not with sacrifices or with holocausts.
My sacrifice  is a broken spirit,
for You will not refuse a humble heart.

Coda: Create in me a clean heart.
(Refrain)

The Voice Within

(sung by Christina Aguilera)

Young girl, don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl, it's all right
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly

When you're safe inside your room you tend to dream
Of a place where nothing's harder than it seems
No one ever wants or bothers to explain
Of the heartache life can bring and what it means

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You will learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Young girl, don't hide
You'll never change if you just run away
Young girl, just hold tight
Soon you're gonna see your brighter day

Now in a world where innocence is quickly claimed
It's so hard to stand your ground when you're so afraid
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
When you're lost outside look inside to your soul

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You will learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Ohh yeah, ooh, yeah ohh

Life is a journey
It can take you anywhere you choose to go
As long as you're learning
You'll find all you'll ever need to know
(Be strong)
You'll break it
(Hold on)
You'll make it
(Be strong)
Just don't go forsaking yourself
No one can stop you
You know that I'm talking to you

When there's no one else
Look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend
Just trust the voice within
Then you'll find the strength
That will guide your way
You will learn to begin
To trust the voice within

Young girl don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall

Beautiful

(sung by Christina Aguilera)

Don't look at me

Every day is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

No matter what we do
No matter what we do
(No matter what we say)
No matter what we say
(We're the song that's outta tune)
(Full of beautiful mistakes)

(And everywhere we go)
And everywhere we go
(The sun will always shine)
The sun will always, always shine!
(But tomorrow we might awake on the other side)

'Cause we are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down, oh no
We are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring us down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

Don't you bring me down today
Don't you bring me down today

Give Up Your Rights

"Have you been wronged? If so, you're faced with a decision. Are you going to spend your time and  energy on what should have been, or are you going to focus on whay can be?

Even when truth and justice are on your side, you may never be able to right your wrongs. Continually fighting for your rights will just make you resentful and angry. Those are all destructive emotions that tap our energy and make us negative. And besides, when people focus on their rights, they're often looking backward rather than forward.

When we stop worrying about our rights, it focuses us in the right decision and releases us to move forward on the journey. We recognize the wrongs, but we forgive them, and focus on what we can control -- our responsibilities. When we do that, it increases our energy, builds our potential, and improves our prospects." (John Maxwell)

My stand on this, sweethearts, is you have to defend your rights but upto a certain point only. Do not let it consume you and do not let this battle make you forget your ideals.

On your time and energy

To focus your time and energy, use these guidelines to help you:
> Focus 70% on developing strengths
> Focus 25% on new things
> Focus 5% on areas of weakness

-John Maxwell

Time management

"Every person on the planet is given the same allotment of minutes in a day. But each person's level of self-discipline dictates how effectively those minutes are used. Disciplined people maximize the use of their time"

A quote and some instructions for Iya

Infernez, it's Lunes

Took a quick break from taking care of you guys today so I can run a number of errands that has been pending for some time now. I spent 2 hours away from home and these were what I accomplished:

- went to the NEW San Pedro Municipal Hall to get a Certified True Copy of Iya's birth certificate. I need this for when I get back to work in June.

- requested for a grocery purchase booklet for Kuya's Person With Disability (PWD) ID. The Municipal Social Welfare Department/Development (MSWD) said it's still not available, though. So, we still would not be able to avail of your PWD discount, Kuya.

- bought pancit with catsup. This is a dish unique to San Pedro. It's plain pancit (not much sahog in there) but with egg and catsup. Sounds weird? I haven't tried it myself but I bought 2 orders for Lolo Teng and Daddy to try. :)

- bought pambahay na basketball shorts for Kuya. So cute! :)

- had our will-you-be cards printed for Mum and Dad's church wedding primary sponsors. Also had a map to the venue printed, as well as our motif. I told Dad to buy envelopes so I hope he won't forget.

- went to RiteMed to inquire about the cost of their circumcision packages for Titoy. It's Php2,300 and will be done by a surgeon.

- went to San Pedro Doctors Hospital to get our refund for the excess professional fee charged by my OB when I gave birth to Iya. Good thing, I was able to claim without much hassle.

- went to Pacita Arcade and bought a sundress, shoes and mittens for Iya.

Whew! That was a lot! :) let's have our siesta na ha? (Lalo ka na, Kuya, wag na magtantrums!)

I love you both!

Search for the perfect marriage

What makes marriages work? Is it being together all the time? Having the same likes and dislikes? Talking to one another everyday?

I read somewhere that before you get married, you must get to know your partner extensively -- her eccentricities, her family, her life goals, her beliefs and values. But, once you've married her, you must learn to accept your new wife for who she is. You don't marry someone and expect that they will change or that you can change them to your image of a perfect wife.

They say the perfect marriage is between a deaf husband and a blind wife. What do you think, Sweetheart? I believe couples can find reasons to argue all the time. Take Mommy and Daddy for example. We grew up very differently. We have opposing views on things. There are things that Mommy likes but Daddy hates. Our personalities are poles apart. But the trick is to find reasons to stay together -- for me, it's the way Daddy shows his sweet side or the way Daddy takes care of us.

Marriage is a contract between two people and God. Do not forget that.

(truncated bilang tinamad si mommy. I'll try to be more masipag in writing to you, kids. I love you!)
