It was really fitting that we named you after Jesus, son. You have taught us humility and gratitude, and have been the cause of our joy even at our darkest hour. Happy VER results anniversary, my first love, and blessed be the name of the Lord! :)

4 years has passed and still we continue to pray for a miracle. My son, don't let the lost of sight hinder you from having peace, love, happiness and faith in your heart.

WHAT THE BLIND SEES

Two blind men followed [Jesus]. – Matthew 9:27

In college, I volunteered to teach a blind class in a school for special children. The students there were some of the happiest people I have ever met. As soon as I entered the classroom, a student would greet me, "Long time no see, Ma'am!" And another would say, "Gumaganda po tayo, ah" (You're getting prettier). Being blind didn't stop them from being happy. Instead, it gave them a better appreciation of themselves and even indulged in humor.

Having been around blind people, today's Gospel left me with some questions. How can it be physically possible for two blind men to follow Jesus? How could they find their way? Did Jesus have a special scent that allowed them to track Him? Maybe they had a guide. Or ropes tied to their waists that were latched on to Jesus. Or, just maybe, their blindness allowed them to ignore the distractions of physical beauty and gave them the chance to clearly see Jesus' healing power.

I can see that, being blind, you get scared easily. Please always remember to be brave and never fear because mommy will always have your back.
When God throws trials your way, just keep in mind that whatever it is, He knows that you can handle it. So praise Him for the learning opportunity and keep in mind that it's gonna take more than whatever the trial is to break your soul.

You are a very intelligent and smart and handsome boy, my son. Please be brave too. You need this to survive the world around you. Don't forget that I might not always be with you physically, but I can always be in your heart as long as you keep me there.

Until when are You going to turn a deaf ear to the pleas of my heart, Lord? Until when are You going to ignore my prayers?

Took a picture of Aki today and it clearly showed that a large area of his eyes is gray already. This broke my heart yet again. I don't think I can ever forget this pain, it just gets numb for awhile, then resurrects at moments like this.

Sometimes, Lord, di ko talaga naiintindihan mga plano Mo. Di ko maintindihan ano tumatakbo sa isip Mo. But all I know is that there is no other way but to trust You.

Please please, if You won't give sight to my son, give him good health, emotional strength and wisdom instead. Amen.

Tonight, I thought of how I'd like to die already just so I can meet God face to face, kneel in front of Him and plead for your sight.

It seems that your light perception is dwindling but let's still be thankful for all the blessings that we have in our life right now. When we first started this journey, we were told that you were completely void of sight. Still God gave you the chance to see light and bask in its beauty. Now, we offer this gift back to God and pray that maybe, someone else needs light perception more than you do. Remember to count the things that you have instead of those that you don't. You are blessed to have a family that loves you dearly and provides for you. Most importantly, you are blessed with good health and a happy heart.
