Thought for the day 01/24

You headed to the park this afternoon. I felt a tinge of sadness since I cannot go with you because Miko might wake up soon and need to feed. :(

Sorry ate and kuya. It breaks me heart everytime you wave goodbye to me. I just say a quick prayer for God to keep you safe from harm everytime we are not together.

I would love to spend afternoons with you and play with you. Perhaps, in a year or two, when Miko is old enough to come along?

Let's spend more time together as you grow up okay? Time with all of the family and individual mommy time for each of you. I would like that :)

I love you and I pray I get to BE WITH you as you grow up.

Random thoughts on Appreciation

Lately, I appreciate --
- your dad for his unbelievable patience when I was in labor with Miko. From when my labor started in the emergency room until after I gave birth and couldn't move much, he was there and assisting me. Of all three times that I gave birth, this was the most patient I have seen him.
- your lolo and lola. Since I gave birth to Miko, they were very supportive especially in my decision to breastfeed. Lolo hasn't been cooking much before I gave birth, but now he makes sure that I always have soup, with malunggay if possible, to increase my milk supply.
- Kuya Aki and Ate Iya for welcoming Miko and loving him right from the start. Ate wants to kiss Miko all the time, and Kuya has never been pasaway so Mommy can tend to Miko.
Give everyone a kiss after you read this okay? Let them know that mommy loves them. :)

Diffused water ideas

Hi Kids!
If you want a twist to your ordinary water, you can try diffusing these combinations in it. Not only will it add flavor to your water, enticing you to complete your mandatory 8 glasses a day, but it also has additional health benefits!
Diffused water ideas:
- cucumber + lemon
- pineapple + apple
- mint/basil + strawberries
- apple + cinnamon
- melon + grape
- lemon + orange
- mint + cucumber + lime
- pineapple + mango
- grape + orange + apple
I personally like cucumber + lemon. I want to live healthy so I can live longer and, God willing, watch you succeed in life and be able to take care of your kids.
Let me know which combination is your favorite. :) love you all!

Homily 01122014

Facing future giants.
- Giants are things bigger than us, like trials, etc.

How to prepare?
1. Humility - ability to accept that God has a plan and we submit ourselves to that plan.
2. Rise above - giants would make us feel small to undermine our confidence and to downsize our faith. But giant problems are opportunities to show the power of God.
3. Plug into God - connect to the source of power: God. It is from such continued connection that we always hear God's voice that tells us that we are His beloved.

Claiming victory
We can claim our victory by humbly accepting God's plan for us and by being always connected to Him. These will lead us to God's assuring love to sustain us in facing life's giants.
No matter how big the giants, we should not be discouraged and feel defeated. We should always remember who we are in the eyes of God -- His beloved.

Welcoming Darren Mikhael and notes for all chikitings

Hi Kids!

It's been a week already, but I would still like to officially welcome the newest reader for this blog -- Darren Mikhael! :)

It's funny, sweetheart, how I prophesied that you are my good luck charm when I just found out that I was pregnant with you. I mentioned sayings like "luck comes in threes" and that "third time's the charm" --- and it's funny because you came out on New Year's Day. While dad and kuya are welcoming the new year, I was in bed in the early stages of labor. (Ate was already sleeping.) Oh boy, be prepared because I will nag you with my labor stories as you grow up! :)

To my first love -- I'm just so proud that you are growing up independently. You have allowed me to worry less and focus on your two other siblings, the way a true kuya should act. Still, I love our midnight snack time because that's the time we can both sit down and talk about our day.

To my only girl -- I know it's tough right now and you miss me fussing over you the entire day, but bear in mind that Mommy loves you all equally. It's just that Miko needs Mommy more now. I admire your love for Miko, the way you kiss him all over his body. I hope one day you will take care of your brothers (and your dad) the same way that I have taken care of all of you. Be strong, little girl, be secure of yourself. Mommy loves you because you are smart and loving and beautiful of course. Never ever doubt yourself. You deserve the best in the world.

To my baby boy -- I look forward to more stories with you, son. I treasure the bond that we currently share, with you being exclusively breastfed and all. May you use your charm to bring laughter to your dad's face as he gets old.

I love you, kids. Take care of your dad okay? May God shower His blessings upon you all.

I just wanted to say...

It makes me proud to be your mom. It is such a blessing to be a part of the three of you. Please bear in mind that you are loved and that I am always with you.

God bless you, Deves kids. I love you all so much! :)
